Objective: The objective of this manuscript is to propose the initiation of the simulation educator training pathway through a simulation instructor training program. Case: Simulation is an essential educational methodology in the curricula of healthcare professionals. Currently, a wide range of simulation-based training programs is available. However, each program has its own participant profile and specific competencies to be developed. Therefore, our proposed simulation instructor training program consists of two stages. The first and theorical stage, which can be delivered in person or virtually. The theorical content is described. Three essential activities are suggested for the practical stage: the participation in a simulation scenario, the design of a simulation scenario, and the execution of the designed simulation scenario. Experiences are shared during the design of scenarios according to Bloom’s Taxonomy and the SimZones, the execution of the simulation phases and their respective content, the formulation of questions according to Karl Tomm, and the debriefing. Conclusion: The activities that demonstrate the achievement of learning outcomes include the design and implementation of simulation scenarios that facilitate participants’ learning while ensuring both psychological safety and patient safety.
