Anesthesiologists face dangerous and critical but infrequent situations. However, these situations are constant threats. These situations are called critical events. A critical event is any moment in the course of a disease where a decisive change will lead to the patient’s recovery or death. Therefore, anesthesiologists must be able to diagnose and treat a critical event through technical and non-technical skills which are the determining factors of success. To train non-technical skills, Crisis Resource Management has been developed and established as a model to develop them individually and as a team. Consequently, it is necessary for residents to receive such training. Nonetheless, residents have difficulty in training Crisis Resource Management in the operating room. Simulation-based training is the answer to this issue. The objective is to train anesthesiology’s residents in Crisis Resource Management through high-fidelity simulation scenarios of critical events. The process and development of high-fidelity scenarios are presented, the same as the challenges and commitments for the future.
