Abstract

The significance of scientific research in Medicine lies in its ability to develop critical thinking through the review of existing literature, thereby allowing us to make better decisions in clinical practice. It's important to note that constant change and progress are integral to the medical field, so developing research skills during undergraduate education to practice evidence-based medicine (EBM) will keep future healthcare professionals at the forefront of the latest medical advancements. This will ultimately lead to higher quality patient care and treatment, and will enable us to engage in translational medical research, where future professionals translate lab research into actual clinical practice.
