Opciones de tratamiento vía terapia endovascular neurológica con alta eficacia y evidencia para su implementación en America Latina

La terapia endovascular neurológica, o neurointervencionismo, ofrece opciones eficaces y seguras para el tratamiento de las enfermedades cerebrovasculares. Existe evidencia creciente que sustenta su utilidad en diversas condiciones; a esto se suma la aparición de dispositivos y técnicas modernas que incrementan la seguridad y efectividad de los procedimientos, siempre que se cuente con un entrenamiento especializado requerido. El objetivo de este artículo es describir las enfermedades más frecuentes que pueden ser tratadas con seguridad por neurointervencionistas, mediante la presentación de casos representativos del Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía Manuel Velasco Suárez de México.
