Episodio psicótico en un adolescente de 11 años: reporte de caso

La psicosis es una condición clínica que inicia en edades tempranas y que afecta integralmente a quien lo padece, generándole una grave distorsión en su funcionamiento global. La psicosis infantil se considera como una fase prodrómica caracterizada por síntomas atenuados activos que afectan el desarrollo normal del paciente. El tratamiento farmacológico sugerido para este tipo de psicopatología se basa principalmente en el uso de antipsicóticos de segunda generación (atípicos), además de tratamiento psicológico para el paciente y su entorno familiar. Se presenta el caso clínico de una paciente de 11 años de edad que muestra síntomas psicóticos con conducta suicida concomitante. La evaluación inicial conduce al establecimiento de un adecuado manejo farmacológico.
