Adhesión de brackets metálicos al esmalte mediante diferentes técnicas de acondicionamiento: un estudio in vitro

Resumen

Objetivo: Comparar la adhesión de brackets metálicos al esmalte mediante tres protocolos de acondicionamiento diferentes: 15 s, 20 s y sistema autoacondicionante. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio in vitro con una muestra conformada por 159 premolares extraídos por razones ortodónticas, distribuidos aleatoriamente en tres grupos de 53 piezas dentarias. Se evaluó la resistencia al cizallamiento y el Índice de Adhesivo Remanente (IAR). Resultados: El grupo de 20 s presentó la mayor resistencia media al cizallamiento (3,5 ± 0,43 MPa), seguido del sistema autoacondicionante (2,4 ± 0,55 MPa) y del grupo de 15 s (2,1 ± 0,40 MPa). Se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los tres protocolos mediante la prueba ANOVA de una vía (p < 0,001), con diferencias significativas en las comparaciones por pares mediante la prueba de Tukey. Respecto al IAR, el grupo de 20 s presentó mayor frecuencia de grado 0 (58,5 %), mientras que en los grupos de 15 s y autoacondicionante predominó el grado 2, con 41,5 % y 30,2 %, respectivamente. Se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa entre el protocolo y la distribución del IAR (p < 0,001). Conclusiones: La resistencia al cizallamiento difirió significativamente entre los tres protocolos evaluados, observándose el mayor valor medio en el acondicionamiento durante 20 s. Asimismo, la distribución del IAR varió significativamente entre los protocolos.
