Aim: To identify the effectiveness of a nursing care guide in preventing rebleeding in patients with hemorrhagic cerebral vascular disease (CVHD), at the National Institute of Neurological Sciences (INCN). Study design: Preexperimental, prospective, longitudinal study. 5 care nurses participated, who applied the care guide to 42 adult patients diagnosed with CVHD for 72 hours; designed with 6 of the 14 needs of Henderson's Theory, which was validated for content (p < 0.05) and internal consistency (r > 0.20). Results: The population stood out between 39 and 60 years old. The predominant type of hemorrhage was Sub-arachnoid (SAH), with a higher proportion in women. 35% had arterial hypertension (HTN). During the application of the guide, among the prioritized diagnoses, the following stood out: during evaluation hours; Risk of cerebral tissue perfusion r/c impaired oxygen transport; acute pain r/c increased intracranial pressure. No patient rebled at 3, 24 or 48 hours, and only 4.76% rebleed at 72 hours; being a significant value of p<0.05. Conclusions: The application of the proposed guide was effective, presenting only a minimal proportion of rebleeding at 72 hours.
Key words: cerebral hemorrhage, nursing care, rebleeding.
