Uso de pastas dentales en niños menores de 12 años en el Perú durante los años 2019-2021: un análisis multivariado

Resumo

Objetivo: Determinar o uso de pasta de dente em crianças peruanas com menos de 12 anos de idade no período de 2019 a 2021. Materiais e métodos: Estudo transversal usando os registros da Pesquisa de Saúde Demográfica e Familiar - ENDES (de 2019 a 2021) para coletar informações sobre saúde bucal. Os resultados foram examinados de acordo com as variáveis do estudo e foram realizadas análises estatísticas. Resultados:  Um total de 98.89% (n = 81 668) das crianças peruanas com menos de 12 anos de idade usaram creme dental no período de 2019-2021; no entanto, seu uso diminuiu ao longo dos anos, com diferenças estatisticamente significativas encontradas. O uso de pasta de dente com flúor com um mínimo de 1000 ppm aumentou ao longo dos anos, com diferenças estatisticamente significativas. Na análise multivariada, houve uma associação positiva entre o ano de 2020 e o uso de creme dental com flúor com um mínimo de 1000 ppm (RPa = 1.04; IC 95%: 1.01-1.07; p = 0.004). Também foi encontrada uma associação positiva entre o ano de 2021 e o uso de pasta de dente com flúor com um mínimo de 1000 ppm (RPa = 1.12; IC 95%: 1.10-1.15; p < 0,001). Conclusões: Há uma associação entre o uso de creme dental e ano, região natural, área de residência, local de residência, altitude e idade; bem como uma associação entre o uso de creme dental com flúor com um mínimo de 1000 ppm e ano, região natural, área de residência, local de residência, índice de riqueza e idade.
