Objective: To evaluate the effect of an educational intervention in oral health on the perceived impact of oral conditions on oral health-related quality of life among adults receiving care at a private dental hospital in Chillán, Ñuble, Chile. Materials and methods: A quantitative, single-arm pre-experimental study was conducted with 40 participants selected through consecutive convenience sampling. The spanish version of the OHIP-49 questionnaire was administered before and after four educational sessions based on the Health Belief Model. The normality of the paired pre–post differences was assessed using the Shapiro–Wilk test (p < 0.001), and changes were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: A statistically significant reduction in the overall OHIP-49 SP score was observed (W = 820; p < 0.001), with the mean score decreasing from 47.8 to 11.6 points (mean difference = 36.2 points) and the median from 44.0 to 4.0 points. The effect size was large (Cohen’s d = 1.46; BF10 = 4.31e+8). Significant improvements (p < 0.05) were observed in 6 of the 7 dimensions, particularly physical pain, functional limitation, physical disability, and psychological disability (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The educational intervention based on the Health Belief Model was associated with a significant short-term reduction in the negative impact of oral health on quality of life.
