Abstract

The authors refer that, since ancient Peru was a warrior and conquering country, with a rugged geographical nature, and with punishments and sacrifices that coexisted as a normal practice, traumas were frequent among the aborigines. They present the types of trauma suffered by the Peruvian aborigines and the medical-surgical methods that surgeons used to cure these ills. Finally, they exhibit ceramics from ancient Peruvian cultures in which some traumas and the methods that were used to heal them are represented.
