Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Salud y Tecnología Veterinaria is a is a scientific journal sponsored by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, publishes original research articles related to the field of Veterinary Medicine, Zootechnics, Veterinary Public Health, Wildlife, related basic sciences, and technology applied to research, welfare, management, breeding, production and animal health., and be original and unpublished.

ON THE PRESENTATION

The article should be presented accompanied with a letter addressed to the Editor in Chief of Salud y Tecnología Veterinaria , requesting the evaluation for publication. The letter should include the title of the work, the full name of the authors and type of work. The letter should be signed by one of the authors.

A sworn statement signed by all the authors should be enclosed (according to the established format), that the article presented is intellectual property of the authors and that it has not been published nor presented for evaluation to another journal, yielding the copyright to the Salud y Tecnología Veterinaria journal, once the article is accepted for publication.

Page of the Title

The page of the title should contain: Title of the article in the original language (Spanish or Portuguese) and in English, full name of the author, or authors, institution where the study was conducted and the address of the correspondence.

The name of the author or authors should follow the following order: Paternal surname, maternal surname, and names. The names of the authors should be separated among themselves by a comma. The name of the author should be placed after the Title or obtained Academic Degree and the appeal for the institutional affiliation in Arabic numbers in superscript.

The name of the institution or institutions to which the author has affiliation, is placed after the last author and in a separate paragraph, preceded by the corresponding number in superscript.

For the correspondence, the name of the author in charge, address, postal code, and E-mail should be placed. The telephone number can be placed in addition.

Page of Declaration of Financing and of Conflicts of Interests

The financial source should be placed in this page: Economic support received in the form of grant, donation of equipment, or contribution of drugs and another type of support, and the possible conflicts of interests of the author or authors, whether of economic, institutional, labor or personal order.

PRESENTATION SCHEMES

Original Research

They should be presented maintaining the following order:

- Page of the Title
- Page of Declaration of Financing and of Conflicts of Interests
- Summary (Spanish and English)
- Introduction
- Material and methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Bibliographic references

The total extension of the manuscript, including the bibliographic references, should not exceed 14 pages, a single face (It does not include tables, figures and figures). A maximum of ten tables, figures, or graphics is accepted.

The summary should be presented in a separate sheet and with a maximum length of 250 words.  At the end 3 to 6 key words should be added, to help classify the article.

The objective of the study is placed at the end of the introduction, clearly and concisely.

 The maximum number of bibliographic references permitted is 40.
