El presente artículo analiza la ética como una experiencia vivida y situada, partiendo de los aportes de Martin Heidegger, Emmanuel Levinas y Paul Ricoeur. Se presentan los conceptos de habitar el mundo, la alteridad y la vida buena. Desde esta perspectiva, la ética se transmite principalmente a través de la convivencia, el reconocimiento mutuo y las prácticas cotidianas, más que por la enseñanza de reglas abstractas. Con estos elementos se analizan las dimensiones de la vocación, la mentoría, la docencia, la inclusión y la producción del conocimiento como espacios privilegiados para la vivencia ética dentro de la universidad.
