Ten years after his death, the figure and work of Leopoldo Chiappo remain highly topical. His contributions to Peruvian culture, and especially to psychological science, present him as a pioneer of what is now positive psychology. In the present work his contribution to psychology is analyzed, highlighting his humanistic approach, the important teaching work that he carried out throughout his life, and his intense study of the works of Honorio Delgado, his teacher, and of The Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri. Likewise, reference is made to his commitment to the destiny of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, of which he was one of the founders.
