Effectiveness of educational intervention in the knowledge of young people on prevention of risky sexual practices.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the nursing educational intervention on the level of knowledge about prevention of risky sexual practices in young people in a community of Lamas - San Martin Region, 2022. Material and methods: Quantitative study, pre-experimental design, 63 young people who met the selection criteria participated. A pre- and post-test questionnaire was applied in person, respecting all biosafety measures, with prior informed consent, and 2 educational interventions were developed. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare the level of knowledge before and after the intervention.
Results: It was found that the level of knowledge about prevention of risky sexual practices in young people before the educational intervention was high in 46% and after in 100%, therefore, the differences observed between the pre and post evaluation were significant (p < 0.005). Conclusions: The nursing educational intervention was effective, as it increased the level of knowledge of young people about prevention of risky sexual practices.
